Why is Apple hated sooo much

nokia vs apple11 Why is Apple hated sooo much

I’ve been following Apple since 1992 and I’ve seen a growing passionate dislike for everything Apple does in bloggers looking for mac fanboys and girls to help increase the website impression, being this the easier way to profit for writing a trashing article about Apple in general, others hate Apple because they don’t believe that a company that was supposed to be shut down decades ago is still driving the computer business with profit better than Dell or even passing Microsoft as the most valuable tech company in the U. S. when it has its days counted.

Now this hate is even bigger, Apple haters are all over the net, the street or even in your own family, some of them have never ever touch a mac or an iphone, but have their strong voices against eveything Apple, haters are growing even faster with the introduction of Android, now they have a point when comparing Apple closed ecosystem when the totally open offer with Android, but haters shut their mouths when they compared quality and profitability, this is something they don’t want to talk about it because when it comes to doing business in their respective Application Stores, the AppStore trounces the Android Market for a wider margen.

Apple has been closed since its introduction, it hasn’t changed even when the Microsoft openness threatened to put Apple out of existence and what it worse is that it won’t change because Android has a bigger marketshare, Apple is not a marketshare company and it hasn’t been one, it uses marketshare to shut rivals mouths, but Apple only target is to bring quality in everything it does and to profit doing it.

Apple has its own pace and won’t be altered because Android, Bada or any other mobile OS hitting the market, Microsoft has enjoyed a bigger marketshare/monopoly and Apple has survived and has competed and defeated Microsoft in the Mobile OS and tablets, so while Android could potentially surpasses Apple and everybody in the Mobile Phone market, the end word is who is getting better applications or who is profiting from doing so.

And haters must get used to see Apple as the most prominent technology company in US, I won’t bet against Apple.

Yes the are hated so much that everyone buys their products. (Sarcasm)

Your kidding right? You can’t get a better loved brand.

The question in your title brings up a long curiosity of mine, but unfortunately your article doesn’t shed any light on to the question.

I have not yet been able to come up with any plausible reason why there are such strong haters of Apple products. One of the reasons I had long thought about was whether this was a symptom of “sour grapes”–the idea that because fans of other products saw that their products were not doing as well or better in the same areas as Apple (e.g., profitability) and therefore harbouring growing jealously over dominance that Apple has (dominance not necessarily in marketplace but in say areas of profitability, or areas of better user experience). Well, this reason is a possibility but it doesn’t really explain why those fans have such an investment in products. Are corporations part of their self-identity? Are corporations an extension of how they see they can create favourable circumstances in their world? Furthermore, this reason doesn’t really seem all that convincing unless other pieces of the puzzle are explained.

Another possible explanation I had was simply that some people could not stand the kind of positive image that others give Apple. It was becoming too much for them to handle and out of a sense of unfairness (even though this sense of unfairness is NOT justified) grew to seriously hate Apple. Well, are you convinced with this possible explanation? Not me. I’m not.

What other possible explanations are there? I don’t know. I haven’t really come up with anyone that I can convince myself of. To really answer the question why certain people have such a vested interested in hating Apple even though
    a) they are not working for corporations that are competing with Apple, and/or
    b) they have no actual real stake in seeing which company succeeds (even though emotionally they might)
we probably have to backtrack to other pieces of the puzzle and answer those first before we can get to the question of why such hatred.

What are those other questions? Well, I guess for one is why are certain groups of people so invested emotionally in certain corporations (e.g., Microsoft, Google, etc.) when personally it is of not stake for them. Perhaps once we can begin to answer that question, then it will shed light on why such hatred on Apple.

Don’t even concern yourself about the braying iHaters. It’s their loss. Millions of consumers grew up in the Microsoft Windows era and they’re just angry that their precious platform may fall from favor. Same with the corporate IT Windows lackeys. They trained on and became the tech lords of the Windows everything generation. They’re so scared that their beloved Windows might be taken away from them and they may have to learn something new or lose their precious jobs. Every time they hear the word Apple or Mac, they start to sweat and sigh that they might have to betray their Old Master, Bill Gates or New Master, Steve Ballmer.

The younger generation will happily flock towards Apple Macs and iPads and won’t even give a damn that Windows OS is falling out of favor. Bill Gates absurd dreams of Windows OS on every living man, woman and child’s computer is slowly fading away. It’s the most ridiculous dream imaginable and Windows should be abandoned by consumers at the nearest opportunity for some simpler and less bloated OS. Windows is an ancient dinosaur just waiting to become extinct. Losing out license by license, Windows desktop OS is going to be less relevant as the days go by.

So let the iHaters hate. They matter less and less. It will give them something to live for while Windows desktop OS dies out. Apple’s yearly revenue will continue to grow and eventually exceed Microsoft’s as Windows licenses fall by the wayside. Soon, the iHaters cries will turn from a roar into a whimper and they’ll be figuratively buried along with their beloved Windows. Try not to step on their graves because it’ll bad luck, like a Windows virus.

It isn’t that all that many people hate Apple, but the few that do are so passionate and vocal about it.

The original Apple haters were the techno elite who were threatened way back in 1984 when the first Macintosh was released. Apple marketed then Mac as “the computer for the rest of us”, meaning those who just wanted to do something useful with a computer without having to also become a computer expert.

The Mac with its mouse, graphical user interface, and no command line, was derided as a toy. Year after year, every design decision was ruthlessly criticized in an attempt to prevent the Mac from gaining traction. The haters continued to loudly predict Apple’s doom as if wishing would make it so. To this day, even after many of Apple’s design decisions have been validated as evidenced by incorporation into competing products, Apple is still subject to absurd scrutiny and skepticism.

Today most of the people who hate Apple remain those that want to hoard power through expertise. They are the geeks that work in corporate IT departments, computer advice columnists, bloggers, the consultants who make their living repairing virus infested Windows machines, the gamer over-clockers, the DIY computer builders, the open source Linux advocates. These people know in their hearts that they are smarter and better than average computer users, and superior to Mac users in particular.

But after years of bullying and taunting Mac users, yet faced with Apple’s undeniable success, the haters are more threatened than ever. They ridiculed the original iPod and iTunes, only to witness it grow into an empire. Likewise the iMac: Who would want and un-upgradable “appliance” computer instead of a minitower with all of its luscious slots and ports?!!? And the iPhone: How dare Apple think it could enter an established market in which they had no experience? The iPad? What made Apple presume they could succeed where others had failed after a decade of trying. And for the love of God, where are the essential hard disk, stylus, SD slot, USB ports….?

Now they cling to Android (with Flash) as the great hope to destroy Apple once and for all. Good luck with that.

This is probably due to a mix of emotions. For one thing, once you’ve invested in one thing it makes something else into “the other” and we don’t easily abide others. If you don’t care about baseball you don’t care about Yankees and Mets and the Red Sox but if you are a fan and live in the area you might be passionately against one or more of these teams.

Along the same lines, success for the other can imply a negative hit for whatever you are invested in. This can have real effects. If you are in IT and have spent a lot of time getting certified for MS Windows or BlackBerry then the possibility of your company adopting Android or iPhones is a threat.

Finally, as THIB pointed out it irritates some people that Apple gets so much positive press. Think of the iPad. All sorts of people posted all kinds of explanations about how this would fail, and then it turns into a smash hit. They still can’t stand this. They call it a toy or a fad and predict its imminent demise. Somehow they just don’t “get” Apple. It is like someone who can hear sounds but doesn’t get the music. They see what others see but they don’t understand and it irritates them to no end.

  7. I am a Fanboy since 1994 or 1995 and I have to admit that when something is bad in the Appleland is bad, I can’t try to hide or serve as an Applelogistic, but others base their attacks in something that is totally out of their reach like windows fans or fandroids that most of the time have never ever used a Mac or iPhone, they have not real clue about how Apple works and that’s the real reason for their constant detraction, Apple has is own way of doing its things and there isn’t any outside energy that provoke a reaction strong enought that users notice it, Apple has its very own pace and all the needed pieces to achieve a better position in any market (mobile, desktop, mp3), it has been this way and it won’t change, the last time Apple responded to the market was when the mac clones invaded the mac platform, years ago and almost ended up killing Apple itself.
